Upon successful completion of required courses for any given education level a Graduation Diploma is awarded to each student at a Commencement Ceremony. In reality, a variety of ceremonies take place over a two-day period. The McTavish International Academy Of Magical Sciences is home to every level of schooling both standard and magical from Kindergarten to University Graduate School. Each school level within the greater University structure has its own separate graduation ceremony. All feature their own Valedictorian & Salutatorian who gives a speech at their respective ceremonies around the greater campus of enlightenment. This includes Elementary, Intermediate, High School, Collegiate, and Graduate School Levels. There are also Graduate School ceremonies. Generally, most of these occur on June 16th with Headmaster Sorcerer Supreme Ian McTavish offering some brief words of wisdom.
On the morning of June 17th, we see the awarding of prestigious Professorships at McTavish for the next school year. They are personally presented by the Headmaster. It is truly an honor to behold the student becoming the teacher to a whole new generation of magically talented individuals. Later in the afternoon, The Grand Graduation Commencement Ceremony begins with a rousing speech from Headmaster McTavish. This brings the entire University of magic together in enchanted educational harmony. The Grand Salutatorian gives the Salutation speech while the Grand Valedictorian gives the Valediction speech to the entire school. Often they are on their way to a Professorship. During the early evening a glorious presentation and party takes place for all students. This includes the honored guest Commencement Speaker. The party is full of fireworks and amazing displays of magic that go on well past the Witching Hour. College level graduates contemplate how they will use their skills to battle the forces of diabolical darkness in our world.
